Honestly, I planned on getting a refund after using it. In about 10 minutes, it scanned and repaired my crashed hard drive that was unreadable. For me, it turned out to be worth the $70. Review by lostshoe: It cleans the registry, finds junk files, etc. It is rather expensive however, but I would say the free trial is worth it, just for cleaning the registry and finding junk files. There are ways around the 30-day trial, but I'm pretty sure we can't discuss that here (arrr matey). (4/5 - 19-Mar-2005)

Review by KC: I downloaded and installed a trial version of Registry Mechanic and was rewarded with a slew of junk malware secretly installed on my PC. It took multiple scans using two different spyware apps to detect and clear out the crap. I have never experienced such an infestation; stay away!
